OUR FOUNDING STORY
Hux Belt started over 10 years ago with an idea. The idea was to make a product that was easier to use than the product I was using in the office. I've been using SI belts in my office for over 15 years and patients couldn't get it right in terms of proper placement. I was very clear about how to use the product and I would invariably see patients in the grocery store who were using the product wrong making it ineffective. I set out on the goal of making a product that made it easy to use and get "right" every time. This idea has been a roller coaster! I would work on it for a while then drop it, then come back to it, again and again. It's been dead and revived many dozens of times. My wife Krystal and I kept at it and eventually came up with a design that worked and we liked. We went through the patent process and were granted a patent in July of 2020. That was a big deal for us! We tried to get the product manufactured in the USA but was met with resistance by every company we tried to engage. Eventually we met someone that helps products get manufactured in China and we were forced to go there for manufacturing. Hux Belt was finally produced and offered for sale! Since Jan of 2024, I've been selling out of my office with great feedback. We are excited to get this product in the hands of people in need.

Nearly 8% of back pain is chronic, that’s a lot of days away from our kids, out of work or even in bed. We wanted to help people feel better without medication and we knew sac belts are effective if used correctly. The traditional problem with the belts was incorrect placement. MEET THE DOCTOR
Dr. Barry’s early interest in biomechanics started with the golf swing in high school and continued into springboard diving in high school and college. This interest led to his pursuit of a career in Chiropractic where he graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 2002. Since graduating, Dr Barry has treated a myriad of conditions — lower back pain being most prevalent. Dr. Barry, a lifelong learner, holds a Doctorate in Naturopathy and has been at the forefront of Naturopathic care in the State of Idaho. Witnessing the opioid crisis firsthand in practice, Dr. Barry has championed ways to relieve patients’ pain without drugs or surgery. During his 20-plus years in practice, he has successfully incorporated the use of sacroiliac (SI) belts for patients with a wide variety of lower back and leg pain; however, the products already on the market all had issues. First, patients, even after instruction, tended to wear the belt at the wrong height, making the belt ineffective. Second, movement throughout the day caused the belt to move away from the right position, again making the belt ineffective. Third, some patients lacked the upper body strength to get the belt tight enough. These issues led Dr. Barry and his wife, Krystal, through a decade-long process of creating a solution.
